Thailand BOI guide

Is my business eligible for BOI?

Work through activity match, substance, capital, employment and location before spending on an application.

A five-question self-check

These questions do not replace professional advice, but they will tell you quickly whether an application is worth exploring.

  • Does your activity clearly match a current promoted activity description?
  • Can you document technology, process or capability rather than only sales intent?
  • Is your capital plan real and evidenced, excluding land and working capital?
  • Can you describe an employment plan including Thai staff?
  • Is your location consistent with the activity and any zone conditions?

If the answers are mixed

Many businesses are better served by a standard company plus a licence route, or by a partnership with an existing Thai operator. That is often faster and cheaper than reshaping a business to chase promotion.

Frequently asked questions

Can you tell me if I will be approved?
No one can. Eligibility depends on the specific activity, project and current regulations, and only the BOI decides.
